Bogus Email Confirmation

I’ve recently sold a PS2 on PP only to receive what I believe to be a bogus email confirmation of payment reciept, it states that the buyer has paid the money into my account, however it won’t actually be credited until I contact PP with a tracking number! This means that I would have to post it first and there is no way I’m risking that, is this normal or definately a dodgy mail?
