No buyer protection when I was sent counterfeit goods

I bought jewelry from a ebay seller when it arrived it was counterfeit I CONTACTED THE COMPANY WHO OWNED THE TRADE NAME and they requested a sample of the goods, Pandora BY THE Way, I sent them off to Pandora in London and got a reply saying they were counterfeit and not silver they were stamped 925 so i contacted Paypal and sent them the proof that they were fakes; That i was the victim of a scam. Then the bullshit started PayPal actually closed the case before i had a chance to reply. i am at my wits end as the trader ROBBED me of £133.99 PayPal closed my case and refuse to do any more about it. where can i go from here? i approached my bank as i paid by card and they told me to contact paypal. I cannot send the jewelry back as I would be breaking the Law sending counterfeit goods through the post. where can i go from here Help HElp anyone have an answer?

I would contact the bank and file a dispute. Advise them of the actions paypal took. They should allow you to file a charge back

If you paid by a card you can do a chargeback and most likely you will win. Especially since you have the proof that what you bought was a fake. Paypal is not going to help you so don’t waste your time with them. Just fine a chargeback with your card issuer and take it from there. Good luck and don’t buy any more jewelry using paypal. That is risky business.

I’m surprised paypal closed out the case so soon. I swear they live to promote scam in cyberspace. You need to file a dispute with your credit card company. If you used a bank card then you may be out of luck, the rules are different with debit cards. I always use my Capital One Rewards because it has 0% liability so when an instance of fraud occurs I know I’m safe. You may be out of luck and in for a pricy piece of costume jewelry.

Scams on paypal are on the rise. People use the internet to lie, cheat and steal. I’ve been selling online since 2000 and let me tell you, it’s getting worse year by year. Paypal isn’t the only place you need to be careful, its everywhere really. No company can really offer you protection, it’s all just marketing and gimmicks. Let me break it down for you, if it sounds too good to be true (buyer, seller protection) then it is. If you ever want to start a business, there are other ways of accepting credit cards. People go through their local banks (which is super pricey in my opinion), third party processers, etc. If you just want to continue buying online I would suggest to always use a credit card and not a bank issued debit. At least with credit cards you are offered a dispute option.
