Collection agency came after me because buyers account was hacked.

Like most I started off on ebay buying things and then looked at the opportunity to try and make money. I had been an ebay member for 8 years when I tried to sell my old PC. The buyer did a buy in now for a total of $350. I saw the payment pending in my account and once the money was available, I shipped the item. over 3 months later I get a letter for a collections agency wanting the money back for the transaction. I was in shock. After many attempts, I finally was able to speak to somebody and they said that I lost a dispute for the money. Apparently an ebay and paypal account got hacked and was used to buy my computer. They changed the shipping to address and used the address of a foreclosed property that had been vacant for over a year. I received no notice of a dispute in fact they had all of my contact information and phone number if they really tried to get a hold of me. To this day I still get collections notices but that hasn’t stopped me from obtaining very low interest credit.

    You gotta be kidding me…PayPal slips up and YOU have to pay. That is just wrong…their site isn’t secure…accounts get hacked by the criminals that thrive in the f**+ed up PayPal system and the honest people have to pay. Give me a break! And of course, PayPal gets their money…somehow they are never on the short end of the stick. I guess because they are the ones making the rules to their favor along with all the thieves that slither there.
