Failed SSL Connections

By J. User

I’ve contacted Paypal over the past 3 years regarding issues of their login page not being a SSL connection.

From time to time, if someone goes directly to x.com or paypal.com the site does not automatically forward the user to a secure page. Thus the user is entering their userid and password into a non-secure form.

The last time I reported this was the last week of May 2005, directly to Paypal. Three days ago, I went to x.com and paypal.com and for about 5-10 minutes the site did not auto-forward to a ssl connection.

beware! if you don’t see that httpS, anyone with a packet sniffer can pick out your user id and password in a matter of seconds.
