This is a matter to be solved by a legitimate lawyer. Contact a criminal lawyer in your area, and ask the (usually) receptionist about your situation. Ask her if you can benefit by suing. This is the only way you'll get a free bit of counselling. Never make an appointment until he/she tells you whether or not you can benefit. Don't fall for the "I'm just the receptionist, I wouldn't know" bull****.
They are most definitely trained in paralegal/legal services, and if they have the audacity to try to have you make an appointment in order to increase profits, then that law office is not the one you are looking for.
If the receptionist says that you can positively benefit from the legal work, then make an appointment. Talk over the issue with your lawyer, but be sure not to let the conversation drag, as consulting costs by the hour (try to make it just under an hour).
I'm not sure where you are from; I'm ***uming the United States, so I won't be able to help you on the legal ***umptions, because I am only aware of Canadian, Korean and Japanese law. If there is anything I can help you with, or you need consulting, please contact me at:
