fraudulent chargeback
I am involved in a fraudulent case whereby i received 2 paypal payments which was later reversed.
I received the 2 paypal payments from a fraudulent "humanitarian worker" who wanted me to remit money to his "foster son". This was what i did.
I just wish to say that in both occasions, i was ***ured by paypal that the two payments have been credited (and cleared) to my paypal account. It took 3-5 weeks for paypal to inform me that the payment was transferred invalidly. During that period of 3-5 weeks, there is no news from paypal. This was the important reason why i went ahead to remit the remaining money to the third party (claimed to be his foster son) via xoom which was funded by my paypal account.
And now i am shocked that paypal can actually reversed payment that has been cleared in my paypal account. I feel that in the first case, the investigation by paypal was inadequate. And when i sent several emails to verify my claim, there was not much attention paid to my plight even when i have all supporting evidence.
Both total to over USD 1100+.
I wish to know if anyone has similar experience and what can i do? I have reported to the police force in my country about the fraud case, but they are not following up on the case as it is out of their jurisdiction.
