Default Paypal/E-bay monopoly

E-bay compels a seller to upgrade to a "Premier Account" upon receipt of a card funded payment. E-bay compels acceptance of card funded payments if seller offers Papal. But E-bay also compels seller to offer PayPal as a payment method for ticket items sold in certain states they select. (E-bay owns PayPal).
How do they get away with this!

I just paid 7% to the E-bay/Paypal conglomerate.

Angry Exactly the problem I'm having right now

Gary,
This is exactly the jam I've gotten myself into in the last 48 hours. I've always refused to upgrade to a premier account because I don't find their "very affordable" fees to be all that reasonable. In the last two days, I listed tickets to two Chicago events and as you know, in order to do so, I had to list paypal as an accepted payment method. I tried to warn bidders that credit card payments via paypal would be denied, but two buyers sent payment that way anyway. Now in the past - I don't know how recently it changed because I''d been doing my best to stay clear of payf**k - for the past couple of years - you'd be able to deny those payments and instruct buyers to pay another way. Well, true to their nature, payf**k has taken that option away (they've actually left the deactivated "deny" button in place just to spit in your face), forcing me to choose between one of two things: 1. accept the payments, thereby upgrading my account and paying their fees; or 2. refuse to accept the payments, leaving my buyers' payment hanging in lingo for the next 30 days, probably resulting in negative feedback blemishing the stellar feedback I've ac***ulated up to this point.

I see you've decided to give in and upgrade; maybe that's the wise thing to do but my pride is preventing me from doing that just yet - it's exactly what they want you to do.
However I handle this present situation, I am looking forward to closing out my paypal account altogether - something I should have done a long time ago - but from what I've been reading, they have ways to prevent you from even doing that!

Glenn
