ok i sold an item to a guy for $425 it been about a month and he said he never got it so he opened a paypal dispute and he won, i did not have money to cover it so paypal told him he can't get his money back and gave him my phone number so he called and said if i don't give him his money back then he is going to call the local police and file a report and they will do something about it can he do that?
just wanted to say i did ship it out and i believe he did receive it i had the tracking numbers |

If you have tracking numbers, you will probably have to take him to court. The police can't do anything to you. If he calls the police most likely they'll laugh at him, ... and he can be prosecuted for filing a false police report. make sure you have your paper trail. Do not talk to anyone ... everthing in writing, certified mail. And don't make threats .... you can be prosecuted for threatening. I would give him a time frame to send you the money, and the file in court. Don't put your intention to sue in your letter. in some jurisdictions this is regarded as threatening. good luck
