Default What I did to resolve Paypal Problem

I cannot speak to the laws in countries other than the US, but for all US merchants, you should check with your bank to see how they handle unautherized withdrawls from your bank accounts.

I had the exact same problems as all of you when I sold an item for 6K. The Paypal account limits and lock outs began. As soon as I transferred the money into my own business bank account - I rec'd my first email from Paypal, essentially accusing me of fraud etc. I'm not going to repeat the whole story. But within 4 days of the transfer, I am permanently locked out of my Paypal account unless I deposit money into the account for Paypal to hold. They have the most amazing balls. I began researching Paypal problems, came across this web site and saw that many people have experienced "charge backs" from Paypal, where Paypal takes money out of your bank accounts. This prompted me to visit my bank and speak to the bank manager who informed me that any actions like that on the part of Paypal is considered an "unauthorized withdrawal". All I have to do if a Paypal charge back appears on my account is fill out paperwork at the bank and they will have the funds back in my account in 24 hours. I know this to be true, because about a year ago I had a problem with another company and it all worked out exactly as the bank manager told me it would.

You MUST keep a paper trail of all your transactions with Paypal and any buyer you sell merchandise to. If your ebay listing states "no refunds" Paypal cannot refund your money as it is an unauthorized withdrawal from your bank account. It doesnt matter what their arcane TOS states ... I urge you to contact your banks, change banks if you need to until your bank accounts are in a bank that will protect your money. The latest email from Paypal tells me that, since they cannot verify my address (even though I am a verified member!) they suspect the withdrawl of the 6k I was paid and put into my own account may be fraudulent. If Paypal believes I have committed fraud, they must prove it in a court of law (per my lawyer). They cannot withdraw money from my bank accounts - that is illegal - it is theft. Talk to your bank manager. Protect yourself and get your money back.
