Default Stupid Paypal procedure

I had dispute with the seller sending me half of the product I bought. This is the reply paypal send me to get claim of $9.

------------PayPal reply---
In order to continue this investigation, a police report must be filed with
your local law enforcement agency and a copy of the report must be faxed to
PayPal. We will need these do***ents to support your claim that some of
the cartridges were missing from the shipment.

The do***ents should be faxed to PayPal at (402) 537-5760 (please note this
is a United States phone number, if you are faxing from outside the United
States, you will generally need to dial 00 1 before the number). Please
include a cover sheet with your fax that includes the email address
registered on your PayPal account and the ID number of your claim
(PP-429-874-568), so we may attach the do***ents to your claim as quickly
as possible.

We must receive your fax by April 17, 2008 in order to proceed with the
investigation of your claim. If we do not receive your fax by April 17,
2008, your claim will be cancelled. We are unable to grant extensions to
this time period. PayPal is unable to reimburse you for any costs or fees
that may be incurred in obtaining the requested do***ents. Any do***ents
you provide may also be supplied to the seller in your dispute if
necessary.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience. We regret any inconvenience
this request may cause.

Sincerely,
Mary

Default Stupid PP procedure

Basically you have to realize that you are buying something off of the internet... from a stranger... Paypal is just a payment processor... they are not a babysitter of your purchases and can't hold your hand when ultimately choosing what you purchase and who you purchase it from.

They do what the can, when they can, but honestly if you bought something and received only a partial amount of what you bought... Paypal is going to need proof of this to even try and help you... how else do they get proof? If you have a better suggestion that a police report, or a report from a postmaster, or someone else with some authority... then you should definitely let them know, perhaps they would change the policy..

But for most of the cases it is going to be Buyer Vs Seller... who's word is paypal supposed to choose??

They do what they can, when they can.

I think paypal needs to stand behind there logo when they outhorize a seller to use the paypal for their transactions, otherwise one could think that paypal is doing froud hand in hand with thiefs!

Well, I sold a shirt that was NWT and they got it, filed with paypal saying it was used and had been washed. Paypal forced me to accept the return. When it arrived, it was still NWT. Paypal took $ from my account and gave it back. I filed with paypal saying, hey, I advertised NWT, thats what they got, and that what they sent back. So, did they get the wrong size and just want their money back? Paypal said, well, at least it came back NWT. Stupid crap like that happens because people change their mind. My point though is that paypal wouldnt take any proof from me that it was NWT and that they lied. They simply took $ from me and gave it back. Buyer didnt have to give any proof either, in fact, they wouldnt even tell me why they though it was used. They said, give me my money or I will leave a negative. Its Bull.

I use both Ebay and Pay Pal to earn a little extra cash, but sometimes Pay Pal gets a bit out of hand with the buyer disputes. Did you know that even if shipping insurance is offered and the buyer doesn't pay for it. That buyer can still win a Pay Pal claim, and get their money back. Even if you can prove that the item was lost in the mail, and that the buyer failed to purchase insurance when it was offered. Now I personally haven't lost any significant amounts of money, but I would definitely say that Pay Pal protects buyers over sellers 90% of the time.
