Default How can a person get out of paypal?

I only started dealing with Paypal a couple days ago, but already want nothing more than just to get out. They made a mistake in my information - I guess it's called my profile - by putting in an invalid country (or city?)saying "Hong Kong". This was put in the field for country, and the application process never actually gave me the option of entering the country myself. I didn't think it would be a problem to fix it, but found you can edit (fix) other field but not that one. Trying in vain to fix this ate up hours of my time - partly due to inability to reach them - & finding they were in Hong Kong with no customer service phone # in the U.S. so sent an email to their "help" department. That at least brought a reply but no help on the country problem. Tried again today - got a message that this information cannot be changed, which seems to make no sense - especially as the other info. they have of mine - the state and zipcode - are clearly the U.S., not Hong Kong.
I saw no way to resign, back out of it or quit Paypal. Has anyone been able to do that and can help me? Thanks for your time, Indra
