Default Accused that my item was "fake"

I am a fairly new EBay seller (45 rating with a 100% feedback). I sold an Alviero Martini handag to a customer on September 12, 2007. It was a handbag from mymother's estate and I had soldanother one that she gave my sister a month prior to this sale, for $83.00. Both handbags were purchased approximately ten years ago by my parents as gifts to their daughters in a Princess
cruise line gift shop.

The first sale was smooth and the customer loved her handbag. The second bag resulted in a dispute filed by the buyer. She had kept bidding on EBay with about four other people and won the handbag for $251. I have to admit, I was shocked I received that much money but obviously the handbag has fans. I shipped it to her immediately and within two days she wrote me asking for hermoney back because she thought the bag was fake. I was shocked because I knew my parents had purchased them from Princess Cruis Lines in their gift shop. I told her that but because I
could not provide a receipt she filed a dispute with Paypal. Paypal immediately froze my funds and said that they would try and resolve the matter within 30 days. I waited 43 days before hearing back from then, even though I had spoken with customer service a coule of times asking them when would they get my information. Yesterday I got an EMail saying a "third party" decided that the bag was fake based on the buyer's do***entation and they they never asked me for my side of the story and further more (!!!)
they said I would not be allowed to see her do***entation and that the case was closed. The buyer was instructed to destroy the item and they would refund her the money! I immediately talked to a "supervisor" after waiting about 30 minutes on the phone, constantly being transferred to someone else. He said he was sorry BUT case was closed. I asked since when is a case decided on without hearing both sides and when does a company have the right to have an item in question "destroyed"
when it belongs to someone else? I am so upset about the treatment I have recieved from PayPal that I will probably now cancel not only PayPal but EBay as well. I have been charged fees on the item by both parties while it was in dispute and am now without nothing.

I take great pride in my feedback score with Ebay and have really enjoyed buying and selling on EBay. It has become a fun hobby for me.

Unfortunately, I am now going to close both accounts. I am so mad at PayPal I want to do anything I can to destroy their reputation like they have done to me. My husband is an attorney here in San Diego (and without seeming like I am biased, a very good one with an excellent reputation. He called "Dan" a supervisor this afternoon and of course got a message machine. We are hoping to hear from him tomorrow.

Anyone who has had a similar experience, I would love to hear from you. We have sued once in our lifetime and American Home Shield is now in a huge cl*** action lawsuit. We are determined to do the same with PayPal.

Sincerely, Eli
