Default PayPal and collection agencies

Last Xmas, I had several Nintendo Wii's for sale and sold two to a man living in New York (the Bronx). He charged them through his credit card via PayPal, an amount of $1200. The Wii's were sent and he received them. Then he started complaining to me that one Wii was not new and that it had been taken out of the package, bla bla bla, which was not true of course. He then complained to PayPal who immediately limited my account. I got tired of his complaining and escalated the complaint to a claim myself (thinking that the settlement would be faster - yeah right!!!). After several months, I won and immediately closed my PayPal account and anything related to eBay for that matter, I had enough. Now, several months later, I get a letter from a collection agency stating that I owe PayPal the sum of $1200!!! They tell me that the buyer, when he lost his case I guess, decided to ask for a chargeback from his credit card company and PayPal, without communicating with me in any way, granted the chargeback. I am being har***ed by this agency everyday. I don't even answer my phone anymore and screen my calls with the answering machine. All of this was done while my account did not exist anymore, it was closed! I tried to talk to PayPal but, forget it, I get the runaround and they keep quoting rules and regulations to me, which don't even relate to my situation. I sincerely believe that they employ little monkeys that know every answer by heart and repeat them to anyone who calls. The agency told me not to trust PayPal and to sue the buyer for my money! I live in Canada and he lives in NYC. On top of that, his problem was only with one Nintendo Wii not the two he bought. So, by requesting a chargeback, he got 2 free Wii's. Clever! I had a good business going, this put me out of business for good. I can only say one thing, PayPal will not get a single penny from me. If they want their money back, they'll just have to ask Mr. Bronx to cough it up! After all, he must have made a hefty profit selling those free Wii's. Please people, do not, I repeat, do not do any business through PayPal. They protect the buyer and crush the seller.

BYW, writing on your product description (like I did) that you do not accept returns or issue refunds is a joke. Please remember that!

Thanks for reading me, that felt good.<*** ***="images/smilies/redface.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Embarr***ment" cl***="inline***" />
