Paypal Outs me 250$

So i'm out 250$ in the negative.

I received 250$ via paypal maybe 2 months ago, soon after it was charged back even though I offered proof to paypal that it was sent to his address.

Well, soon after I got the money I stupidly spent it (which got frozen in transaction)

Anyways. I'm down money when I delivered as promised and PayPal won't listen and just goes on about their seller protection whenever I try e-mailing them.

I've been getting numerous e-mails from paypal, some supposed debt collectors and phone calls from the latter as well demanding that I pay them.

Can they do anything legally if I don't pay? I obviously want to shut down my Paypal account, they've always been poor service to me, so that's not a problem.

I was hoping anyone could give me some advice on the matter to what they can do and if I should in-fact pay them and lose even more money. Thanks
