I don't necessarily think this has anything to do with Paypal. I've had 4 transaction from "Paypal Galer Corp" since December on my Mastercard - and it's not a card I registered with Paypal to the best of a failing memory. Barclaycard (UK) are treating this as a 'normal' card fraud, so now I too have to cut up this card and wait for another one.

When are the Internet Trading companies going to wake up and start using Secure Virtual Identity, such as Identity Commons (see ****://2idi.com/ )?

XRIs (Extensible Resource Identifiers) address a longstanding problem on the Internet: how to have a persistent, portable, privacy-protected identifier for any resource, from a person to a company to an application to a concept.

Posting a second time. PayPal immediately credited back my account the day after I notified them. I called my credit card company and they also removed the charge and asked me to destroy my card and so they opened a new account and I had the new card in 2 days, delivered by DHL. I do not have children or anyone who orders games as stated in the post above. I wish PayPal had told me how my info got into the wrong hands---I'm wondering if it has anything to do with someone working at PayPal.

My husband was recently notified by Chase that Galer Corp had attempted to charge $89 to his credit card. Chase must have been aware of fraud issues with Galer because $89 would not normally have initiated a security call from them. My husband doesn't have a paypal account and his only connection with gaming sites is the free games on POGO. He has used his card for online book purchases from various used book dealers but not with Paypal.

I also received 4 charges ($100 - $200 each) on my chase credit card from a PayPal Galer Corp. All of these charges occurred within the last four days. I don't have a Paypal account. I don't use online gaming, I don't have children. (As per explanations offered in previous posts). I called my credit card company and Paypal. PayPal said they had no information about an issue of fraud with Galer Corp iteself. Also, the email used on the PayPal account didn't match mine, nor did the phone number....which makes sense since I don't have a paypal account and it wasn't me who set it up. PayPal said their privacy policy requires a subpoena to release any information about an account so the person/s committing this fraud seems well protected. I won't be held responsible for the charges, but do need to wait to get my new card.

I too was taken by someone purchasing items through Galer Corp. It seems tha the problem may not be PayPal as much as it is someone getting our credit/debit card numbers and purchasing items at Galer Corp which requires payment through PayPal. Has anyone purchased items at a company called Androtics"? This is the only purchase I can think of where someone may have stolen my card number. Let me hear from you on this site.

We too have been taken as victim to this. Im not sure who is responsible for it but whomever is needs to get it fixed! Im sure there are more out there that have had the same problems as we have. It seems that they have broken into some system and gotten all these card numbers to make these purchases. Ours was 149.00 and we are still waiting for repayment into our bank account. 10 day waiting period for it to go in???? They sure take it out right away! Why can't be get it back quicker than 10 days???
