Can Someone Hack my Customer’s Account?

Hello

I just got an angry threatening attack email from a customer who won an auction on eBay and paid but almost immediately he cancelled it. I saw the words (in high lighted) in blue “Cancelled” and directly across from it the words in high-light “Request Refund”. So I did. Although he was illegally reneging a transaction (winning an auction) I didn’t want to cause trouble for him. I simply gave him back his money. That was two days ago. Today, he sends me this nasty email threatening to sue me and hurt my standing with eBay!
No ‘what happened?’ he just went directly to my jugular!!
So, I got the hard evidence on PayPal that he did (Indeed) cancel the transaction (I can’t cancel someone else’s transaction) and emailed him back that HE was the one that reneged and ILLEGALLY backed out of winning an auction. I’m awaiting word from him whether to play nice or play rough!
I told him if he does pursue in hurting my standing and/or suing me I will inform both eBay and Paypal that he won the auction then RENEGED and with “Hostile Intent” set out to hurt me without a single attempt to simply ask (if he Was innocent) what happened, that I will make sure after suing HIM he will be banned from both eBay and Paypal for life. My standing with both is stellar 100% from many years.

My question to you is it possible that someone else hacked HIS account (or someone in his household) and cancelled the transaction so that I could then give him back his money?

I had asked him did anyone else have access to his Paypal account but he still has yet to respond.
