Pay Pal wants to take control of my checking account

Been selling on Ebay and using Pay pal for 4 years. Have a 100% satifaction feedback and now Pay Pal comes with this “get verified” crap. They claim I have paid out almost 10k and if I don’t get verified I can no longer use Pay Pal OR I can get on of their rip off, high interest credit cards. Both methods require giving them my checking acct number. 4 times I emailed them there is no reason for it as I do not pay by check. I have a low interst credit card tied to my acount. When I have money in my acct I use that first to purchase something. If the acct is empty then it goes on the credit card. Ebay/Pay Pal doesn’t like that because usually the acct is empty when their fees come around so they have to charge the credit card. I assume like anyone else they get charged a transaction fee instead of if they took it out of my checking they would not and I could despute the charges through the credit card company but with checking I could not. Bottom line is Pay Pal wants to take control of my checking acct. THEY WILL NEVER GET MY ACCT NUMBER! In my email I told Pay Pal either I continue on the way I have been or close the acct. I have $22.00 left to go before they cut me off. I’m just going to let the acct sit idle and the can keep carrying it every month. Right now not spending money is a good thing so let them sweat. I have some things I can sell on Craigs list anyway.

    Good for you. I wouldn’t give them my bank account information either and they were not happy about this. They kept hounding me until I had enough and went with a real merchant account company. This time around I did a lot of research before choosing a company to make sure I found a company that was best suited for my needs. I went with merchantinc. Their fees were the lowest out there and they work on Ebay actually better then Paypal does.

    I refused to give them my checking account information as well. I don’t want them to have access to MY money. They are thieves. A friend of mine had her account tied to paypal and they screwed her out of almost $200. I was so happy I didn’t give them my account information. i have since left them because of their shady business
