Paypal Chargebacks

I have a website and use paypal to take payment from customers. A customer place 2 orders on my website, then when they saw the charge on their credit card account, they contacted Discover and said the charges were unauthorized. They realized their error and called Discover back within 15 minutes to report they made a mistake. Discover paid paypal for the transactions. Paypal immedately placed holds on both transactions, then a month later, claimed they were valid chargebacks and charged me an additional $20 plus the amount of the transactions. Discover says pappal received the money. The customer shows the charge on their statement. Paypal refuses to do anything about it. So now I and the customer are out for the amount of the transactions, plus I’ve been charged an additional twenty. Even though paypal claims to look out for the seller, they do nothing to help the seller, so sellers beware paypal is out to scam you!

So you paid and the buyer paid but who got the money? There is something very wrong about this. Paypal is stealing from you!!I mean at least the buyer got the items they paid for but not only did you not get your money they made you pay for what you sold plus $20. This must be against every law in the book!

This post sure brings back bad memories. The same happened to me once. A customer paid for and recieved their purchase from me. They even left positive feedback. For some reason tho, they then filed a complaint with PayPal stating they didnt authorize the charge (their payment had been put on a CC). PayPal, even after I told them to go check out the positive feedback left me, authorized a chargeback and then charged ME $20!! I was totally dumbfounded. So sorry that you also, went through this. : (
