PayPal e-mailed sellers that I am a Fraud which I am not!
hey,
i need some advice from you guys.
i opened a Paypal account few days to purchase few phones phones from eBay.com that are not available in India for my friends and relatives.
I provided them with all the documents they needed for verification.
Bank account verified, PAN verified, credit card verified..etc
I made first transaction on eBay and paid using Paypal.
payment got cleared and i received the item within a week.
then i made few more transactions on eBay again payments got cleared
few sellers shipped the phone next day few didn’t saying that they will soon ship.
suddenly after one day i got an email from them that we have seen some unusual activity related to your account and your account has been limited.
when i logged in to my Paypal i saw all my transactions have been put on hold including all those for which the products are delivered and in transit.
even though i am a buyer but i feel sorry for the seller whom goods i have received.
i don’t understand the purpose of holding the payments for those sellers whose goods are in transit or delivered.
when i contacted Paypal they said i need to submit photocopy of passport,utility bill and credit card statement and hold will be lifted.
i don’t understand why they need my passport or utility bill for additional even when i have verified everything.
i decided to submit all the documents they need but in between before submitting the documents i started getting email from my sellers that Paypal has contacted them and said them that i am fraud and advised them to cancel the transaction.
some sellers started mailing me telling that i am fraud and my country is full of scam.
one of the seller even posted this on eBay that INDIAN ARE SCAMS.INDIAN BUYERS DO NOT BID.
i don’t understand one thing even after verifying the documents how can they tell the sellers that i am fraud without any proof.i provided them with all the correct information.and even i have clean credit history in India.
if they needed some additional documents they should have told me but instead of telling me they declared me as a fraud in front of every seller.
i even emailed them also regarding this but they even lied to my seller saying that they have not received any email from me.i have proof of this too.
they have not only spoiled my image but my country’s image too.
and which is something i will not tolerate.
what you guys suggest..what action should i take i have all the proof against them.

This is just horrible for you to have PayPal drag your name through the dirt like they have done. It would be better if they focused on the actual scammers and fraudsters that are misusing their service rather then going after a person doing everything right according to their rules. I have never used paypal or eBay but was thinking about it to sell some fabrics from my old upholstery shop and I was just looking for some reviews but after what I have read today about eBay and Paypal on the web I am shocked anyone is using their services.

I am a user of paypal and usually buy and sell things on ebay. I am very sorry to hear how horrible paypal has treated you.If I were you I would seek legal action against them. Sue them for ruining your reputation and causing you so much stress. You have proven that you are the rightful owner of that account, using their so called verification process. What more do they want you to do? I say sue them. Find a lawyer who would be willing to take your case and make a deal of paying him with a percentage of the winnings. Because you have nothing to hide. You will win. he will make his money there. I have done it with another company and I won.
I’m sorry to hear that paypal is dragging you down like this. It really is a shame as to what this company does to the people who keep them in business. There really isnt much you can do. Try taking legal action against them is really all I can suggest. Good luck with everything. Paypal is such a horrible company
