PayPal is holding my money based on information they made up.
Paypal have taken it upon themselves to “hold” my account & with it the money therein (of course!) they are demanding personal information as they insist I have received $1,900 in this calendar year. I have asked them to prove this amount as it is a complete fabrication. I requested a years statement from the paypal webshite & it sends me one month. I speak to customer services for the second time today & I query that their information is incorrect ie the date the account was opened, the amount of money received, dates they insisted I received money – when actually I didnt. their information is highly questionable & now that I am unable to get a statement of all transactions for the past year I am unable to dispute this with them. In the meantime they are “holding” my money… thankfully its less than $100 but I still want it back. Now they are asking for a copy of my driving license & proof of address. As I already have deep misgivings about their record keeping & accounting ability I will not be giving them this information. I think perhaps I will just take them straight to the small claims court. I have already cancelled all my listing on eBay & will NEVER use either eBay or Paypal EVER again.

You can get your 3 most resent statements by logging in to your account and selecting statements. I am not sure how you would be able to further back then 3 months. PayPal obviously have those records but since it appears that they are making up these facts about your spending limit I highly doubt they will supply you with those statements. You can try their customer service again and hope you get that one nice helpful person they have working there.
The problem that you’re going to run into is that they are the ones holding your funds. They are in control. You don’t have a choice but to provide them exactly what they want in a timely fashion. The alternative is never seeing YOUR money again. I’m pretty suspicious that they claim you’ve made all that money when in reality you haven’t. Could it be that you have a relative or someone in the same household running transactions through paypal as well? You wouldn’t believe the stories that I’ve heard as far as the bozos at that company getting their wires crossed and mixing up accounts who share similar information. As for their customer service, everyone and their mother knows what a joke they are. It’s insane! I once had what seemed to be a simple issue to resolve and I was bounced back and forth so many times it made my head spin. Finally I got a hold of someone with a soul who walked me through fixing my issue.
I had a similar problem with paypal myself. They told me I had met my I met my selling limit of 3k but I know I had not. I was on the phone with customer service for countless hours which got my absolutely no where. This company is a rip off, a scam and a bunch of BS! I went with another compnay after I couldn’t resolve my issues with paypal and have been so happy!
