Paypal permanently limited and froze my account/funds

Paypal permanently limited and froze my account/funds, over $3500, without any explanation! Prior to this, ebay and paypal they limited my account because they needed more info, I submitted & verified my bank account, proof of address, phone number, credit card; they also wanted my social security number.. So I called paypal and told them i wasn’t comfortable with giving my ssn, and asked if there was an alternative. They said I had to do this otherwise I couldnt use their service. So, I gave them my ssn, they restored service, ebay restored service as well. Then, I relist my items, two items sell with buy it now and i have like 6 listings with a bunch of bids, now 24 hours later, ebay limits & removes my listings, a few hours after that, paypal permanently limits and holds over 3500 in sales. What the hell can i do now? And how is it legal for paypal to do this? I complied with them and sent everything they asked for and they just ban me?? I don’t get it.

    They can do the things they do because they are not federally regulated by a bank. There isn’t much you can do. They will probably hold your fund for 180 days. You can call and harass them to see if you can get the money fast. May I suggest applying for a real merchant account? I went with merchantinc after having too many issues with ebay and they have worked out good for me

    Unfortunately you are another victim of paypal and they BS antics. I was using them about a year ago and everything was going great until one day, they decided to limit my account. I of course called them immediately and they refused to give me any reason why they had done so. In the mean time the were holding 1200 of MY money. Long story short it took me over 180 days to get my money back. In the meantime I did research on them and came across the many sites out there showing I wasn’t the only one who got screwed over by paypal. BOy do I wish I had done my research prior to signing up with them. I just chalk it up to lessons learned
