Paypal must be the most untrustworthy institution on the internet!

Well for the past 10-15 years I have always tried to keep well away from Paypal but there are times when you have to use them when you buy on the Internet. This year alone my bank account has been tapped buy Paypal no less that 17 times! Always small amounts, it’s as though they think you won’t react when the amount is small. Last week I had to change my card number on their site. Right enough they told me they would debit my account with NOK15,- as “verification” that I was who I said I was (as if that proves anything). The money according to the little block that appeared on screen would be paid back within 72 hours. What they didnt mention was that I had to find a code on the bank transaction, then go back into Paypal to initiate the repayment! Not only do they not tell you this they took the amount 3 times. Paypal must be earning millions in unclaimed payments and interest on money not claimed back. 10 days later I’m still waiting for my reimbursement.

Several days later and I’m still waiting for my money to be returned to me. They have however sent me a mail asking me to go into the “Resolution centre” and resolve a few problems they are having with me! First to verfy the card they have already debited, then to change my security question, then to change my password and finally and incredulously to send them a passport photo of myself!! Who does this company think they are? I have never felt so enraged in my life about such a petty sum.

I had such a hard time getting verified with paypal that I gave up and closed my account. Paypal kept the $2 they had taken from my bank account and it was never returned to me. I guess after reading on this site and others that I should count myself as lucky, that paypal didn’t take more of my money.
