A simple name change is too complicated for PayPal
I have been attempting to change my name on my Paypal account for over a month now! I have been using this Ebay/Paypal system without a problem for several years. I bought a $10 item on ebay and my account magically gets flagged. I got MARRIED!!! That is all that happened. One last name got changed to a second last name. I have submitted the marriage license, a copy of my new license, even a copy of my social security card with the new name! After the Resolution Center cleared everything and allowed the payment to go through, the Profile name still showed my old name. So I called up Paypal thinking this would be easy, just type in the new name since everything has been submitted. Oh no, that would be waaay tooo easy and have too much commonsense for Paypal. They had to “escalate it up” to another level. That would take another 24 hours. A day later, I get an email requesting documentation they already have! But when I try to write back to the email, it says responses can’t be accepted (then why on earth do you put a personalized name at the bottom of the emails acting like someone on the other end could be corresponded with!). I try to call into this monster system, and it repeatedly emails me details on how to change my profile, and then hangs up on me. I have finally emailed Paypal with large capital letters requesting that a human being call me so I can explain their mix up to themselves! If there were another option to buy things on Ebay then I would!

A simple transaction is too much to handle for paypal and that is their business. THere is no reasoning with paypal and what seems like common sense to the rest of the world is a mystery for paypal. THere is NOTHING that has been easy with my paypal except for the signing up part. Once they got you hooked they treat you like a piece if poop.
I totally agree with you. It is impossible to pay now. I have registered 2 replaced visa cards by them. They say I have to verify them by sending a number 4 digit, that they will send me. It never arrives, not by mail, not by post (takes 30 days they say!)I-ve tried to pay without using the PP account that I felt I was forced to establish (but I don’t use it). But i am rejected with a message that does not tell me anything. My bank says my cards are all OK. I’ve asked PayPal if they are so security focused that they connot be used by regular people? This is sooo frustrating!
