The system is so open for abuse

EBAY PAYPAL, ONE AND THE SAME….

I sold a BEAUTIFUL watercolour of a gypsy girl Edwardian, the guy from Italy screwed me down on the price.
I was broke so agreed….
After 1 day past posting he starting chasing me for details of postage and by day 5 was jumping as it had not arrived – Rural Andalucia to Italy.
Ebay and Paypal ruled in his favour, and despite being as honest as the day is long, and taking a pride in describing carefully, I made the mistake as I had underpriced the postage, and it DID NOT GO SIGNED FOR.
Soon as he knew that….he mythered me every day for 2 weeks, I am so reluctant to trade with Italy.
Last week, I had an item chased, ‘where is my item….’. However older and wiser, I now ALWAYS send recorded so I was able to say, your item WAS DELIVERED AND SIGNED FOR YESTERDAY!!! CHEEKY BUGGER!
In between I trusted a buyer who had 0 rating, and clearly she had seen the
list….and got stung again. Around 600$ in all.
My advice TRUST NO-ONE, ALWAYS GET EVERYTHING, NO MATTER HOW SMALL SIGNED FOR SERVICE.
The system is so open for abuse by Cut-throat evil bastards who Ebay and Paypal side with.
I so wish there was a good alternative, who took less fees and had the no’s ebay has.
THEY STINK!!!!

Far too many people use ebay and paypay to try and get something for nothing. And it is pretty easy to do with the help of ebay and paypal. It is a scammers paradise. I stopped selling anything over $100 because I just don’t wast to risk losing more than that. . If eBay and paypal lived up to their promises it would be a good service but they don’t even come close to what they promise.

here is the solution to your problems as a buyer AND a seller. You USE ebay simply to SHow off the item. When it is sold you engage in phone conversations with the buyer and you gather info on them, (as you will get their address, you will also establish a bit of a bond with them.) then you complete the transaction OUTside of paypal. You can do this as a seller by sending them the item only AFTER they have sent you money through mail OR you can decide if you trust them after having spoken to them and get them to send you payment AFTER they receive the item!
