I am a user of PayPal. I registered my account in 2012, and it really brought me convenience in term of online shopping. I really appreciate it. But when the trouble happened, I was disappointed in paypal’s service.
On Oct 18th, I purchased something online, but I realized I didn’t have enough money in my main account after I placed the order. In order to avoid the overdraft fee, I called PayPal and the customer service told me I could just change my main payment account and then PayPal would charge the money from my new account. I did it and thought everything would be good because I believed the professionals in PayPal.
However, after two weeks, I suddenly found PayPal still charged the payment from my old account and that led to overdraft fee for my account. Then I called PayPal again and the customer service told me what the customer service told last time was incorrect. And he said PayPal would send a cancellation request to the bank to cancel that transaction. And I also called the bank that day, they told me they would refund me the overdraft fee when they received the cancellation request from PayPal. Everything looked smooth again.
But until today, nothing happened except the increasing overdraft fee. I called PayPal again. The customer service said what the previous customer service was incorrect again and PayPal couldn’t cancel the transaction because it has completed. Then I asked for transferring the call to supervisor, she just apologized about that and thought I just got bad information from agents.
The customer services I listed above are only the one that can give me exact response. I called PayPal more than ten times. I don’t trust the customer services now and I don’t know what I can do next as an international student. I don’t know if I will use the PayPal again, but I am really disappointed in PayPal now.
