A couple of months ago I sold a pair of rare sneakers to a person in Montreal. The person received the item 6 days later. I have written proof from the postal office, plus the online tracking record.
86 days later, the person files an “unauthorized transaction” claim and paypal immediately refunds the money out of my account, without any notice. Unfortunately I had a balance of 2000 USD on my Paypal account and they just took it leaving me in the red with 200 something. I lost the money and the sneakers.
I then contacted Paypal by phone twice. And they hung up on me. I kid you not.
PAYPAL’S CUSTOMER SERVICE HUNG UP ON ME AFTER I TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT I’VE BEEN DEFRAUDED.
I then went on to vent my frustration by email. Their response was they could do nothing about it. It’s the credit card companies call and I would need to calm down or else they would ignore my case.
I was absolutely dumbfounded by the way they handled this matter and how they treated me.
I now filed a report with Montreal police regarding the fraudulent buyer and have a lawyer in Singapore, Paypals headquarters, looking into the matter.
I’m also looking for other victims of this scheme to file a class action lawsuit against Paypal. I don’t think customers should be treated like this in 2015. Paypal is ruthlessly taking advantage of their “monopolistic” position. Power to the people, let’s put a stop to these criminal corporations.
